The First State Pushes to be the First in Electric Vehicles

A new start up auto company, Fisker Automotive , announced this week that it will produce plug-in hybrid electric vehicles in Wilmington (DE).The plant will produce Fisker's "Nina" sedan, beginning in 2012. The company expects to build as many as 100,000 electric hybrid sedans, priced at $39,900 after federal tax credits, annually at the site. Fisker also plans to shift production of its $87,900 Karma coupe, now made in Finland, to Boxwood Road in 2012. Read more...

This will make the second car company to announce plans to produce electric vehicles in DE. On September 21, AutoPort Inc has released the first electric car built in DE.

Senator Lamar Alexander: "Nuclear Power is the Inconvinient Solution"

In a seminar he gave to Resources for the Future, Senator Lamar Alexander argues nuclear power is the solution for global warming. He states the three solution to reduce CO2 are:
1. Building 100 new nuclear reactor,
2. Electrifying half of the current vehicles
3. Solar roofing

Five Technologies that Could Change Everything....

Michael Totty of the WSJ (October 19, 2009)has a cover story of what he called "the five technologies" that could change the energy game in the future. These are:
1. Advanced Car Battery (lithium-air compound)
2. Carbon Capture and Storage
3. Space Based Solar Energy
4. Renewable energy (wind and solar) storage's
5. Next-Generation Biofuels(non food)
All these technologies are at their early stage, but have the potential promise to change the nature of current energy supply.
