NRC Report Finds Plug-in Hybrid Costs Likely to Remain High

Costs of light-duty plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) are high—largely due to their lithium-ion batteries—and unlikely to drastically decrease in the near future, according to a new report from the National Research Council (NRC). Congress considers bill on V2G technology

A bill introduced in Congress yesterday by U.S. Rep. Jose E. Serrano (D-New York) would provide funding to the Department of Energy and U.S. Postal Service to convert existing mail trucks and manufacture new ones to use vehicle-to-grid, or V2G, technology, which was developed at the University of Delaware.
